Recipe

1. Cut the floral foam to fit the small plastic dish, then use pot tape to secure the foam into the dish. Ensure the tape reaches completely around the dish and foam, overlapping the ends for a secure fixing.

2. Ensuring you keep the posy small enough to fit into the lantern, place your best rose in the centre of your design, cut to reach about two-thirds of the way up the lantern. Take time to get the placing right; if it is too tall or too short it won’t be seen.

3. Place the remaining three roses around the central rose; they should be equally spaced, reach a little shorter and radiate out slightly further than the central rose.

4. Cut and add the sweet peas and astilbe to fill in the posy shape, then fill in the gaps with tillandsia moss and scatter the wooden stars into the design to finish your posy.

5. Attach some floral fix to the base of the dish and gently place the posy into the lantern, adding extra tillandsia moss or sand around the base (using a long spouted watering can if needed) to ensure that the plastic dish is not showing. Alternatively, place ribbon bows around the base of the dish to decorate.
